  2. IRIS Background • A protocol from the CRISP WG for public-facing registries. • Approved, waiting on the RFC Editor • Like EPP, IRIS is a generic protocol with independent registry layers. • DREG for domains • AREG for addresses

  3. Layers • Multiple Layers • Uses XML • Uses NAPTR records.

  4. EREG • ENUM Registry definition for IRIS. • An ENUM meta-data information service. • Similar to DREG but uses its own namespace identifier for all objects. • Has a validator entity. • EREG terminology and elements will be revised to match the ENUM validation document(s). • Implementation available at iris.verisignlabs.com.
