Trusting in the World… • Jeremiah 17:5 - 6 (NKJV) 5Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. 6For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.
Where is your trust? • What do I meditate on? • What do I dream about? • What do I talk about? • Where do I spend time? • What gives me hope? • What helps me sleep? • What do I lean on? • Where does my heart live? • What do I love?
Trusting in the Word… • Jeremiah 17:7 - 8 (NKJV) 7“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
The Fruit of our Proper Investment! • Believers need not chase after riches! • Our TRUST and our HOPE are to be “placed” in God! • FEAR can be driven away by our selling out to the Lord! • We continue to SHARE “good things” with others no matter the circumstance! • All good things are found in the Lord!
The Seat of Riches…the Heart! • Jeremiah 17:9 - 10 (NKJV) 9“The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? 10I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. Ways, practices, disciplines, understanding
Can I get rich the wrong way? • Jeremiah 17:11 (NKJV) 11“As a partridge that broods but does not hatch, So is he who gets riches, but not by right; It will leave him in the midst of his days, And at his end he will be a fool.”
Can I get blessed the right way? • Psalms 1:1 - 3 (NKJV) 1Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Dividing the soul from the spirit.. • Believers do not have financial issues, they have spiritual issues… • Our spiritual issues are resolved in the depths of our own hearts… • The Lord desires our undivided love and attention in our hearts… • Our hearts unlock all the riches of God as we love and serve Him…
Unlock riches with your heart! • Revelation 3:18 - 19 (KJV) 18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Our meditations and dreams are of Him and His greatness • Our speech is according to His Word • Our time is spent with Him or doing His will • Our hope is in Him and we rest in a place of joy and peace • Our leaning is on His understanding and wisdom • Our hearts thrive on knowing and loving Him • Our plans are not our own, but according to His will
Let us Pray!! To realize that GOD is vitally interested in our well-being! To understand what condition our trust is in! To make the necessary adjustments in our hearts! To unlock the riches of GOD in every area of your life! “Matthew 5:14-16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.” Live well, Love Deep, Grow Strong!
