  5. School begins at 7:55 and ends at 2:45.

  6. The school day is made up of 9 periods 2 periods : Language Arts 2 Periods: Mathematics 1 Period: Science 1 Period: Social Studies 1 Period: Lunch 1 Period: Encore class 1 Period: Encore class

  7. How long are the class periods? • Period 1 is 6 minutes longer for announcements, • Channel One News and attendance • Core class periods last 86 minutes. • Encore classes last 41 or 42 minutes • Lunch periods last 40 minutes • Students have 4 minutes between • classes

We offer Honors courses in Language Arts and Math EVERY student is considered for placement in Honors courses EVERY year PLACEMENT CRITERIA • Current and previous OAA scores • Performance on department made test “Honors Language Arts” and/or “Honors Math” will automatically appear on schedules of students who have met the placement criteria (above).

  25. Report Cards Report cards are sent home with students the first three grading periods (9 week). The last report card of the year is mailed.

  33. LOCKERS Each student has his/her own locker. Locker combinations are given with the student’s schedule. Teachers have keys if students need help. We give students plenty of time to learn the combination.

  38. Office Procedures Absent students Send a note with your child when he/she returns to school Call the school office prior to 8:30 A.M. Ask for a medical note if your child was seen by a physician

  39. Late arrivals - arrival after 7:55 A.M. Early dismissal – departure before 2:45 P.M. Office Procedures Parents must sign students in/out in the office. If absence is due to a medical appointment, be sure to bring a physician’s note.

  40. Office Procedures Drop off before school and pick up after school • Enter school grounds via Saxe Rd. • Wait in parking lot nearest the stadium • No need to sign student in/out with the office staff
