  1. The impact of ICT By Hollie Payne

  2. Technology's Impact on Education • Easy access to information • Greater interest in learning • Increased retention of information • Robust information storage • Better presentation of information • Teaching made interactive • Knowledge sharing made easy Impact in Education

  3. Advantages vs. Disadvantages • The computer age is here; this cannot be debated. Is it better for children to have access to computers with all their data at the loss of interpersonal skills? Is it acceptable that a student can talk to someone halfway around the world via instant messaging but not be able to get along with the student sitting next to her in a classroom? Technology can enhance traditional methods of learning but cannot replace the human touch. Ultimately, the quality of the class will depend solely on the quality of the teacher and not the presence of technology. Advantages and disadvantages

  4. New technology has been injected into the workplace at an exponentially increasing rate over the last few decades. Many companies see new technology as the means to increase profit margins and to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace. This paper will discuss some of those new technologies and their impact on the workplace. Specifically, I would like to focus on information technology, its implementation, its pitfalls, and its future. Impact in Workplace

  5. Job Loss -One of the disadvantages in technology in the workplace and arguably the most potent is the loss of jobs.Crime -The increase of crime in the workplace is another disadvantage connected to the use of technology, especially when it comes to the abuse of computer technology to commit crimes such as Internet hackings and theft of money through illegal access of credit card numbers.Communication -Improved and faster communication in the workplace is one of the advantages of using technology in the workplace. Communication through hi-tech gadgets such as the cellular phones and computer technology such as e-mails ensures that the communication process is fast.Profits -The use of modern technology reduces the cost of production especially when technology takes the place of human resource; this increases the profits. Advantages and Disadvantages

  6. Communication processes are pervasive in the daily practice of health professionals. Reorganizing these daily practices by introducing ICT, inevitably effects one or more communication processes. Understanding exactly what these effects are, is a major problem in designing and implementing ICT-applications. In this paper we present an analysis of these effects, based on a theory of communication processes. The concept of 'decoupling' is pivotal in our analysis. Based on the identified effects, and some preconditions that have to be met in order for these effects to take place, we derive a number of guidelines for reorganizing communication processes by means of applying ICT. The application of these guidelines will be demonstrated and discussed in the context of the reorganization of a team conference at the Rehabilitation Clinic of the Rheumatology Department of the Leiden University Medical Center (RCRD/LUMC). Impact in healthcare

  7. Advantage: • You can send people there prescriptions via I.C.T over the internet, or by email to the healthcare company. You can easily tell people about their illness and how bad it is. you can keep a history of peoples illness so you can tell the healthcare company when they were ill and for how long. you can get your prescriptions and the information on the illness into the doctors quicker by via internet or email. Disadvantage: • files with information on the persons illness or the prescription could get sent to the wrong person by mistake. If there is a power cut in the building, your work on the hard drives will be lost. Advantages and disadvanatages
