  2. FUN • An exciting way to learn new knowledge without sitting at a desk • Fair play develops respect, cooperation and teamwork

  3. Make Friends • Meet new people, maintain friendships and understand that everyone has different ability levels • Develop cooperation, trust, leadership, communication and responsibility (Tinning, McCuaig & Hunter, 2006: 180)

  4. Combat Obesity • Learn to live an active lifestyle • Learn to balance healthy and ‘sometimes’ food

  5. Outdoors • Develop an understanding of the environment, self and others • Impacts on personal behaviours and social interaction • Being outside engages and challenges individuals (Tinning, McCuaig & Hunter, 2006: 190-91)
