  3. National Plan of Action for Children and Adolescents 2004-2015 endorsed by both political parties respond to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Millennium Development Goals. It include targets to improve maternal health.

School attendance is higher among school aged children attending primary schools. More girls than boys attend secondary.

  14. School attendance decrease with the increase in age Children of ages five and six are starting primary school. About 98 percent of children aged 7 years are attending school; age 7 is the official school starting age in Belize.
