  1. Monthly Bulletin Building Lives, Transforming Communities November 2014 UPCOMING HIGHLIGHTS 8th November Working Bee 8am – 12noon 15th November Men’s Event 8am – 10am 22nd November Women’s Breakup Who do you love? Wayne Swift Luke 10:27 (NLT) The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’” The man was an expert in religious law, and he came to Jesus asking what it was he must do to inherit eternal life.  Jesus responded with a question, “What does the law of Moses say?”  The man’s response is above.  He went on to ask another question, “Who is my neighbour?”  Jesus answered with the story of the Samaritan, a response that addressed deep seated racism and prejudice, a response that would have challenged all who heard it to the core. When I read the Bible I ask myself whether I have heard the message, received it and applied it.  If I am honest with myself, I know in my heart I desire to answer positively to the challenge in Luke 10:27, yet the real answer comes not from my words but through my actions every single day.  I want to love God and my neighbour and I want both to know it through actions that are consistent and transparent.  I keep working on it!
