  1. Vic/Tas Branch Scholarships – up to $3000 Applications are now invited from talented PhD, Honours or Masters geoscience students undertaking energy related projects in 2014 Scholarships (up to $3000 each) are on offer to stimulate local interest in energy-related geoscience projects, and to encourage and support students continuing their geoscience education at university. Selection: Scholarships will be awarded to one or more students completing a project relevant to the energy geoscience industry (i.e. sedimentology, basin analysis, structural geology, geophysics, geochemistry, palaeontology, petroleum geology, carbon sequestration, coal seam gas, geothermal), with a good academic record and a good record of personal achievements (e.g. awards, memberships, volunteer work). Requirements: To receive their award, recipients will be expected to present a 10-15min overview of the results of their projects at a PESA technical meeting near the completion of their thesis. Expenditure: The award is made payable to assist students with university fees, subsistence, or project costs such as data acquisition and processing or travel and accommodation for field work or conferences. ApplicationsdueJune 30,2014 In your application include: • a one page CV, listing education history, work experience, personal achievements (e.g. awards, memberships, volunteer work), your academic record, and your contact details. • a one page outline of your project (signed or endorsed by your supervisor), including a brief statement of current project sponsorship, if applicable.
