  3. Inventors Have you ever wonder who made the things we use? The people who make things that helps us through the day are called inventors[a person who invents, especially one who devises some new process, appliance, machine, or article; one who makes inventions.] These people that are called inventors make things like a videogame the book ,shoes ,clothes est. That's what were going to talk about in this book. Inventors Louis Braille Louis Braille was blind and the Inventor of Braille. Now you might say what’s Braille ? how dose it work? How dose it help the blind to read ? This is how. With the raised dots on the sheet of paper by running your finger on the dot the dots helps the person recognize the letter. Braille was born somewhere near Paris. When Braille was 3 he had a terrible accident in the eye which left him blind. You might not believe this but he was a teacher at age of ten. His idea of Braille came from dots on a card board that the French military leader sent to his solider at night. This is a picture of the alphabet in Braille.

  4. Baldwin Matthias William Baldwin Matthias William Baldwin was born on Dec.10,1795 and he died in sept.7,1866. He built the first locomotive in the U.S.A. The car’s name was old iron sides. He even was clever enough to make his own tools to help make the machine. Isn’t that cool! The machine was 6 tons it could pull 30 tons at 28 miles per hours. In 1819 Baldwin invented a easier way to find gold. Then he made a way to print designs-[to prepare the preliminary sketch or the plans for (a work to be executed), especially to plan the form and structure of: to design a new bridge]. on clothes. In 1832 invented a engine that doesn't make a sound. In Elizabethtown,NJ he was one of the people who found the Franklin Institute. He also found a school for African American kids.   5. Land, Edwin Herbert Land, Edwin Herbert Edwin Herbert Land was a great American inventor, scientist and business leader. He made the Polaroid camera. It was the first practically instant camera that can make a photo just like that. Land had a lot of patents [A legal document giving the inventor of some item sold right to the manufacture or sell the item.} in fact he had over five hundred Land received a patent for polarized light filter. The filter cuts down glare so the bright light source doesn't get in your eyes. This is important because if the light got in your eye you be blinded every time you took your picture. his invention helped make a lot things like headlights, sunglasses and cameras. He also showed the first way to creating instant photo graph. His first Polaroid cameras was black and white with help with a special film so you could have a picture under a minute. It was in stock on 1948. He made color film in 1963. This is a picture of land. This is a picture of a patent of The U.S.A

  6. Arkwright Sir Richard Sir Arkwright Richard was a inventor and manufacture.[many- uh-fak-cher]- The making of goods or wares by manual labor or by machinery especially on a large scale. In 1769, he patented a spinning machine. The machine was called the water frame. It was called that because the machine ran on water. What it dose is it makes thick firm thread. In 1781 Arkwright patent was canceled by the previous inventions he made.

  7. Fossil fuels • Have you ever wonder what made cars go how a train went to place to place? Well these things are called fossil fuels. [any combustible organic material, as oil, coal, or natural gas, derived from the remains of former life] In this book where going to tell you like what fossil, fuel is made of, how they help and how there bad.

  8. What are Fossil Fuels and what they do? Fuel is a kind of energy that doesn't make people go but machines go like cars and trucks. Fossil fuels are very important. Coal is another good source it helps trains move from place to place. Petroleum [puh –troh-lee –uhm] is in other words oil. You may be wondering how do you get energy by coal well the answer your looking for is burning it . There are 3 types of coal 1.lignite [lihg- nite] ,bituminous [bih-TOOM-ihn-ubs] and anthracite [AHN-thrah-site]. When lignite is burn you can make electricity which lights up are homes it is also very crumbly. When you burn anthracite you get a bunch of heat which is used for heating up our showers and stoves. It is also the hardest coal of all to. Bituminous is harder then lignite but softer then anthracite.

  9. Fun fact: plankton and diatoms could be smaller the a tip of your pencil. What are fossil fuels made up of? Coal is made out of plants. I know that crazy but it’s true coal is really made of plant here’s how. Years before dinosaurs lived, the earth was filled with trees , plants and murky swamps. Then the plants would die and fall into the swamp. the dirt and mud buried them. Than more plants died and fall into the swamp , this went for years and years. The plants was getting push down down down by the plant above them. Then the earth’s heat cooked them for years turning them into thick layers of coal. Natural gas is made up of plankton very tiny ocean creature [plang-tuh] and diatoms [DIE-ah-tohms]. Planktons and diatoms lived in speacial oceans when they die the remains of their tiny little body's kept growing layers and layers.   10. Conclusion I hope you learned a lot about inventors and their inventions. I also hope you learned about fossil fuels and there forms. Like how coal is used for heat and electricity and how oil is used to make ink, plastic, crayons and bubble gum. Fossil fuel wont be hear forever someday scientist will find a cleaner better source then the ones we use to day. We can all pitch in to make the earth a better and safer place to live.
