Before the Interview • Physical Prep • Hair Cut • Clean Nails • Look the part! • Confidence boosters • Mental Prep • Have everything organized and know your Resume and CV front to back • Bring at least 3 letters of Recommendation • Include a professional photo • Having everything ready will help calm the nerves

  4. Your Perfect Resume • Do you need to include it all? • No! Clear, clean and concise is best • Try to keep it to 1 page • What to focus on? • Clubs, organizations, accomplishments • Proof read! • Don’t skip this step! One grammatical error can cost you a job

During the Interview What Interviewers Are Going to Look for… • Are you open to new ideas? • Are you easy to communicate with and genuine? • Do you have a sense of humor? • Do you know how to fail forward? • Does your passion for what you do easily come across? • Do you know you can make a difference? • Are you proud of your accomplishments but not boastful? • Are open, positive and mentally flexible?

During the Interview Good Topics to Mention… • Family • Past Experiences • Upcoming Plans and Future Goals • What motivates you? • Inspirations • DENTISTRY!! • We want to see that you’re excited about it! • Mention why you chose it, your patient care methods, and what keeps you excited about it

During the Interview Good Questions for the Interviewer… • What will the expectations of me be? • What continuing education opportunities are there? • What type of relationship can expect with the team? • Will I be able to treatment plan my patients? • Would there be opportunities to buy in to the practice? • Will I be allowed to do all the procedures I am trained to do? • How many new patients are seen in the practice a month? • What made them decide to hire another associate? • How does mentorship work within their organization?

  8. After the Interview The interview is over, but this part is crucial too. Some of the questions people struggle with are… • Do I call the next day to find out anything? • Do I send a thank you card for the interview? • How can I stay top of mind? Some good post interview tips and tricks… • Keep an eye on where the company or interviewer is going to be in the next month and be present • Be willing to visit offices and talk to others related to the position

  9. Decisions, Decisions You nailed it! Now comes the hard part… Deciding which path is right for you comes down to a few things.Ask yourself… • Is location more important or opportunity? • How far am I willing to drive to work? • Research and narrow down where the right place for you would be.
