  20. How can I network? What am I a member of already? “My [Area]” box Find all of the groups that you are a member of in this box – Open: Instantly accessible Closed: Apply for Membership Hidden: Invitation only This changes to “My LPFs” on the LPFs tab 1

  21. How can I network? How can I join more groups? • Searching Groups • You will find all ‘Open’ and ‘Closed’ groups in the groups search box (also sorted alphabetically) • Open groups have ’Join’ where as Closed groups have ‘Apply’ • Closed groups are often moderated by Members 2

Specific documents can be attached to a post using the “upload file” button. b. The file uploader allows you to either choose a file already in your “My Files” area or to upload a new file. You MUST “enter a display name” before you can complete any upload. This will be the hyperlink that is displayed in your post All files b Add a file to post

Real Examples “How do I upload a video?” • In a specific LPF or group go to the “Multimedia” then click “Attach Multimedia” • Chose whether you have a YouTube video or a Vimeo file • Take the web address of the video and paste it into the Movie Filename box

By joining a group, you are not only signing up to see who is talking, you wil receive alerts so that you can engage with the community when you chose. You can search for groups from the “networks home” link and then the “Groups” tab where all open and closed groups are visible Did you know... Many of the groups have associated hidden groups that manage the affairs of their respective committees. Get more involved by messaging a groups moderator

You can send a message to any member by click on their name in a post

FAQs Next “How do I change my alert settings?” FAQs Real Examples Connect on your terms... • Go to “My Profile” then click on the My Groups tab and the My Groups settings Sub navigation button • From here you can determine whether: • you want your email address viewable to other users • you get post alerts • You get personal message alerts • This will be applied to ALL groups and LPFs • This only changes your setting for any communications that are associated with a group or LPF

FAQs Next “How do I watch a post?” FAQs Real Examples • “Watching a post” means that any subsequent activity on that post to be sent to you in an alert. • Find the post that you want to watch and then go to the original thread post • Click And then select “Watch this topic” • A pop up window will confirm that you now receive post updates – to turn them off, repeat the process but select “Unwatch this topic” • Did you know... That you can also watch threads by click on “watch” in the original alert – if you don’t do this, you will only receive alerts about this topic if the poster ticks the “tell all group members” box
