  5. Where are we going?

  6. We are staying just outside Paris. Paris is in the north of France, on the river Seine.

  7. This is our route . Coach all the way from Outwood to Paris. We will cross the channel via Eurotunnel. We will be met by a feeder driver in the south of England who will swap with our driver who will stay with us all week. The Eurotunnel crossing will take about 45 minutes.

  8. When do we leave?

  9. ITINERARY SUNDAY 16th June /MONDAY 17th June meet at school at 23:30 leave school at 00:00 (approx)

  11. The Accommodation Name: Voyager Centre Etoile Parisienne Location: Centre specifically designed for school trips, run by the tour operator, in a small town on the outskirts of Paris. Facilities : Rooms : Shared single-sex rooms. Each room has shower and WC. 5 acres of grounds. N.B. The centre does have a pool but we won’t be using it.

  12. What will i need?

  13. Travel Comfortable clothing. Total journey time is about 14 hours. Medication If you get travel sick you will need to make sure you bring your own medication with you to relieve the symptoms. Food Pack some food and/or English money for the journey. Drinks to be in cartons or plastic bottles. NO GLASS Chocolate is not advised (it melts!)

  14. LUGGAGE We are only going for a few days. Pack LIGHT!!!!!! And ensure you LABEL your luggage. Students must be able to carry their own luggage unaided.

  15. What to pack? Comfortable footwear – we will be walking! Bring covered shoes. Comfortable light clothing (bring a jumper and a waterproof coat – you never know what the weather might do…) Sun cream/hat Bag/rucksack (for day trips) Towels/soap etc Night wear European adaptor (for anything needing electricity). Camera (disposable recommended) Pens/pencils (for quizzes and challenges)

  16. Entertainment To make journeys more enjoyable pupils may want to bring items to entertain themselves. MP3 players. These will be allowed , but NO SPEAKERS Headphones only please. Mobile ‘phones are allowed, but these may be collected in by staff at night as necessary. We would discourage expensive items such as PSPs. They can easily be lost,stolen or broken . DVDs – no 15 or 18 certificates please. Pupils bring such items at their own risk, the staff will hold no responsibility for lost ,stolen or broken items. Mobile ‘phones are not included on the insurance policy. Bring a book/magazine/pack of cards/travel game/crosswords etc…

  17. Mobile Phones

  18. Pupils may bring their ‘phones so that they can contact home to let you know of their safe arrival. Please check with your provider that your phone can accept calls abroad – a reliable phone is better than a fancy one! They can also use it in case of an emergency whilst on the trip to ‘phone Mr Tawn. However pupils need to be aware of the costs involved. To call the UK CAN COST £1.50 per minute To receive a call costs money too. To send a text can cost 50p. Check with your provider as costs vary! Data roaming is very expensive – turn it off! As with electrical items, pupils bring these at their own risk. Staff will not be responsible for phones lost/broken or stolen.

  19. Money

  20. 100€ max. (+ a small amount of English money and euros for the journey and first day.) Please hand the majority of your money to your group leader on arrival at school in small plastic re-sealable bag labelled with name and amount. Keep Monday’s money with you.

  21. You will be given a group leader before the day of the trip. This will be announced on the Wiki. Your leader will be responsible for your money so that you do not over spend or lose it. You should put your pocket money into a plastic bag and clearly label it with your name and amount. On the first day of the trip hand your money to your group leader. Each day we will arrange a pocket money sessions when you can access your money.

  22. What can I buy? • On the trip you may want to buy souvenirs, sweets, drinks, etc. • FORBIDDENpurchases: • alcoholic drinks • tobacco products • knives • lighters • toy guns or similar • fireworks • laser pens • energy drinks

  23. Health

  24. If you need to take medication of any kind make sure that you bring it with you. Please hand any medication to the your group leader clearly labelled with your name and dosage requirements. If you suffer from asthma I strongly recommend a spare inhaler that can be kept with your group leader. All medication needs to have been detailed on the yellow form. Staff will have a supply of paracetamol/aspirin etc… Students do not need their own flu medication. Students can only be given paracetamol etc… with parents’ permission.

  30. We return Friday 21st June late in the evening. When we get back to England your child will ring with an estimated time of arrival when we are about an hour away from Outwood.

  31. Sunday 16 June Meet at school at 23:30 on Sunday 16 June. Give your group leader : passport EHIC card Spending money (apart from Monday’s money) any medication. We will leave school at 00:00
