  2. Interest • If you are interested in connecting to FrameNet or PacketNet, or in any service there: • Send email to noc@nlr.net • This will ensure the right party within NLR gets involved NLR Layer2/Layer3 users BOF

  3. Pre-Turnup Conference Call • Once interest is expressed, a pre-turnup Conference Call will be scheduled. • People on the Call: • NLR Service Desk • ESS • L2/L3 Service Center • Goals of the Pre-turnup conference call: • Ensure the requester is familiar with NLR services • Provide pointers to NLR documentation • Understand the needs of the request in detail • Lay out next steps for Requester and NLR NLR Layer2/Layer3 users BOF

  4. Info We may want to know • Special connectivity needs? • A little about the topology that will be connecting • Details (tagged interfaces, vs untagged, jumbo MTU vs non-jumbo, V4/V6 multicast needs) NLR Layer2/Layer3 users BOF

  5. Connection Information Exchange • NLR will provide a spreadsheet of request-specific information: • Physical tie-down information (port assignment, connector types, light levels, etc) • VLAN info • IP addresses NLR Layer2/Layer3 users BOF

  6. Connect! • Physical Connection • Demarc is the NLR node (But, NLR can help) • Call NLR NOC with any questions while doing physical work (i.e. NLR combination codes) • Once connected, before leaving the site, call NLR NOC to have connection checked by appropriate parties NLR Layer2/Layer3 users BOF

  7. L2/L3 Connection • Process depends on members wants/needs • Business hours/after hours, quick/slow, etc. NLR Layer2/Layer3 users BOF
