  5. Borders and Geography • The states that border Wisconsin are Minnesota, Michigan, Iowa, and Illinois. • Wisconsin’s geography is a treasure of fresh water lakes and many forests.

  6. Resources, Agriculture, Farming • Some natural resources are cheese which is what Wisconsin is famous for • Wisconsin is a farming city! Agriculture is making Wisconsin a farming state because there are over a million dairy cows that’s the reason Wisconsin is the place to get dairy.

History and Additional Historical Facts • Wisconsin's statehood is 1848 • Wisconsin became the 30th state on May 29, 1848 • About 1,200people were killed in a forest fire that destroyed Peshtigo and nearby villages 1871 • Milwaukee's William Harley and Arthur Davidson developed the first world famous Harley Davidson’s in 1903

  8. Places to visit • Green Bay is a good place to go because you can catch a Packers game and wear a famous cheese hat. • If your interested in history then you’ll love Old World Wisconsin where 40 old shacks were built by immigrants and the architectural styles of their homelands.

  9. Additional Facts • Wisconsin’s land was owned by France until 1763,when the British won the French and Indian war. Twenty years later Britten turned over much of it’s territory, including Wisconsin, after losing the revolutionary war to America. • Loggers and farmers, many of them European immigrants, moved into the territory. When Wisconsin was granted state hood in 1848, its population was more than 300,000 people. • Wisconsin’s state flower is the wood violet. This flower was chosen by a vote of school children in 1909.The state animal of Wisconsin is the Badger. Early Wisconsin miners were called badgers because they dug in the ground.
