  5. Biogas potential from waste and residues FoodIndustry waste Manure and crop residues Waste water sludge Total With limitations Food waste 2.955 GWh equals to the yearly fuel demand from ~ 300.000 personal cars = more than half of the cars in Skåne

  6. The Skåne network(s) • Action plan for more biogas in Skåne • In order to achieve the targets for production and use of biogas / biomethane in Skåne. • 4 network groups working with: • Production of biogas/biomethane • Use of biomethane/biogas • Infrastructure and transport • Research and development

  7. Biogas production in Skåne Biogasplants in Skåne Waste water Landfill Industry Farm Co-fermentation Research plant Skåne has 25 % of the biogas production in Sweden

  8. Available public CNG filling stations in South Sweden Strategy for new filling stations in Skåne is under development. Liquefied filling stations

  9. Non grid Transport of biomethane in Skåne • Compressed (long experience) and also liquefied (just started)

  10. Liquefied transport Portable filling station

  11. Buses in Skåne Ambitious target • Fossil free public transports 2020 Achieved so far • All city buses are gas driven (since April 2012) • Half of the inter city busses are gas driven • 50% biomethane in the CNG fuel mix

  12. Gas driven heavy vehicles Otto Engines • 100 % CNG/Biomethane • Low noise • Mainly buses and ”in-city-traffic” Dual Fuel engines • 75 % methane • 25 % diesel • Diesel engine performance

  13. It took 6 years, – spring 2012 we sowed the seed 11/4 Coca – Cola informed 3/5, projektmeeting/ the truck is ordered

  14. In August, the truck was ready

  15. 22/8-25/8 The truck was demonstrated at ELMIA EXHIBITION

  16. Relevant information: • Volvo FM 460 HP (13 liters). • Diesel tank 530 liters. • LNG/LBG kryotank 330 liters. • Range: 80 - 100 miles + 90 miles on diesel. • 25% diesel and 75% LNG/LBG. • Price 400, 000:- more expensive in purchase. • Grant opportunities - BiMe Truck, Swedish government 175 000:-, possibly other local bets. Route: Malmö, Fosie (Rexam) – Jönköping – Stockholm, Jordbro 30 000mil/ year

  17. Biogas and natural gas as fuel • Incentives for the transportation sector: • The environmental aspect – the consumption of fossil fuels and emissions of fossil vehicle exhaust gases • Marketing/branding • Attitudes among the owners and customers • Lower cost per mile? • Grant opportunities — more expensive in purchase • Customer Requirements – Interaction

  18. CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS Haga initiative Coca-Cola Enterprises Sweden is one of the founders of the now eleven companies in the Haga initiative, a network in order to reduce the industry's carbon footprint. Within the framework of climate cooperation, we have set the goal of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2020, compared with 2004.

  19. The future of fuels for heavy traffic is biogas in liquid phase (LBG) in combination with diesel. Dual Fuel technology
