  6. COMMUNAL TOILET Everything white or cream

  7. LIFT • Large mirror on left

  8. GARDENS • No shade • No returning paths • No raised planting areas

  9. Our plans • Garden • Redecoration of communal areas • Lighting • Local pictures on walls for use in reminiscence • Cover mirror in lift with local scene • Resident Participation • Open day for before and after the works

  10. Measure of Success • increased use of the garden and communal areas • more dementia residents ‘dying’ in their own home • happy coexistence of those with and those without dementia • pioneering extra care environments that accommodate Dementia within H21 and externally
