Peace4Kids and Families Program • The Center for Safe Schools is a non-profit organization that teaches kids and parents positive behavior and academic skills through the Peace4Kids and Families Program. • We Teach: P: Parent Empowerment E: Empathy & Emotional Intelligence & Impulse A: Anger Control C: Character Education & Moral Reasoning E: Essential Social Skills & Improved Behavior Goal Setting Identifying desired outcomes and planning a line of action to achieve them.

  3. Peace4Kids and Families Program • These skills prevent acting out and inappropriate behaviors and will create family and school cultures of connectedness, character and academic success. Courage Taking positive and healthy risks to benefit yourself and others. Perseverance Staying with a task; not giving up.

Peace4Kids and Families Program • The Center for Safe Schools and Communities continues to make strides to make our schools safer, even though school violence is increasing at a rapid rate. • The national statistics show that 1 out of 100 children are abused in the United States today. Student violence is increasing yearly as well as the violence within families. Integrity Doing what is right, fair and honorable. Gratitude Being able to say “thank you” out loud when someone is kind to you.

  5. Peace4Kids and Families Program • We need to work together so another Columbine incident never touches our lives again. • We need your help to benefit all students and their families. Cooperation Being able to work with others to accomplish a task, play a game. Self Control Managing your behavior in a positive way.

Peace4Kids and Families Program Contribute, Sponsor and Volunteer • To keep our schools safe consider donating or volunteering to the Center for Safe Schools and Communities or sponsoring the Peace Works Conference 2009 Self-Esteem Having and demonstrating a positive belief in yourself. Service Extending time and effort to help others.

Peace4Kids and Families Program Peace Works Conference 2009 • purpose of the conference is to bring program specialists from model programs here in the US and other nations to learn from each other about ways to utilize successful Social Emotional Learning strategies to both prevent violence and rehabilitate students who are already exhibiting aggression. • The conference will feature key note addresses from experts in the field of Social Emotional Learning. Also, presenters from several states and countries will present a variety of successful programs.

  8. Peace4Kids and Families Program • If you become a sponsor, your company will get free advertising on our web site, conference flyers, training flyers, blogs and conference programs. Responsibility A willingness to be accountable for your own actions without blaming others. Honesty A willingness to say openly what is known to be true.
