Key Message: Policy Makers POLICY ACTION: PLEASE Ensure that Family and Consumer Sciences (formerly home economics) Education programs are in every middle and high school and community in our state REASONS To develop the essential life skills needed to address our complex obesity-related crisis: nutrition, food selection and preparation, parenting, personal and family finance, and career planning skills.
