GOER/LMC Web Services Group • Two full-time employees and one long-term temporary employee • Maintain all GOER/LMC web sites except NYS/CSEA Partnership • Most database applications (e.g., tuition reimbursement, sexual harassment survey, etc.) created and maintained by another group within ITD

  3. Redesigns since November, 2009 • GOER Main Site > 5,000 pages • Employee Relations Toolkit (Secure Site) > 1,000 pages • StateJobsNY (Web Application) • EAP Coordinator Network Site (CMS, Secure Site)

Summary: Lessons Learned • ‘Design by committee’ does have some advan-tages – but be prepared to defend your must-haves (and be prepared to be overruled) • Plan ahead to help audience find same info in new wrapper • Set deadlines & communicate them • Set a freeze date for design; further requests held for phase 2 • Share development links to track progress
