  2. December 2018 LCCU MeetingEdge Browser Features • Top left icons - Set aside/ restore tab groups. • Down arrow - Show tab previews. • Star icon – Add to favorites or to reading list • Book icon – show in reading view, e.g. news article, removes ads.

Also available in PDFs. • Reads web pages aloud.

December 2018 LCCU MeetingDownload YouTube with VLC • Copy YouTube video’s URL from the address bar. • In VLC, click Media > Open Network Stream. • Paste the YouTube link in the box and click Play. • Under Tools, click Codec Information. • In the box that says Location, right-click the block of text and click Select All. Copy to your clipboard. • In browser, paste the link in the address bar. • Right-click the video as it plays and select Save Video As.

December 2018 LCCU MeetingMicrosoft Photos App • Browse by: • Collection, your most recent photos and screenshots in reverse order by date. • Album, automatically created by the apps internal logic, but you can modify them or add your own. • People – connect to Contacts, use Contacts to label or add your own label. • Folder, default is all the photos in your Pictures and OneDrive folders; select “Where to look” to add photos from other folders.

For non-square rotation, drag the circle on the right up or down. • Enhance – click box at top for auto-selected filters, or choose a filter and adjust with slider. Can do more than one. • Adjust – light, clarity, vignette, red eye, spot fix • Undo. • Save or Save a copy (better, to preserve the original).

December 2018 LCCU MeetingShell Infrastructure Host • What is it? • Shell Infrastructure Host is a Windows process with program name sihost.exe, dated 4/11/2018, size 77.5 KB, location C:\WindowSystem32 on my PC. • It handles several graphical elements of the OS interface including taskbar transparency and Start menu. It also displays applications in the Windows interface, and controls certain functions of background behavior such as changing the wallpaper. (according to www.file.net) • If stopped or removed may cause issues with the overall functionality of the operating system..

October 2018 LCCU MeetingHow to Change Email Address • Steps to take: • Get a new account; don’t use one from ISP, employer or school; gmail.com or outlook.com are suggested. • Keep the old account as long as possible. • Test sending to and receiving from new account. • Forward messages to your new account. In Outlook mail, “Add a Connected Account”. In Gmail, “Accounts and Import”, select “Add an Account”; also select “Always reply from the default address”.

Use your password manager to help find them all.

Check 'Hidden Items‘, C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Google\GoogleEarth. • Set “Map Style” to “Everything” (all layers). • Measure distances: click icon, click on places in path, double-click at end.
