  2. Composition • The arrangement of the elements of art in a work.

  3. Medium/Media • The different tools used to create art • Medium = single tool, Media = more than one tool

  4. Subject Matter:A vivid description of what the artwork looks like

  5. Objective Art:Art that includes recognizable subject matter. E.g. A painting of a landscape where the trees are easily recognizable.

  6. Non-objective Art:Art that does not include recognizable subject matter.

  7. STYLES OF ART1. Realistic2. Expressionistic3. Abstract

  8. Abstract – elements used in a random way that doesn’t create any recognizable imagery

  9. Expressionistic – Recognizable objects created in an unrealistic way to create a certain mood or feeling

  10. Realistic – photographic likeness

  11. Focal Point:The area of artwork that catches your attention first. This area is usually the most important part of the work.
