  3. Warm-up What were some impacts of the Industrial Revolution in America? What is the role of the union?

  4. In Unions There is Strength Wage workers did not share with their employers in the benefits of big business How/Why? Originality and creativity in short demand-Why? More workers came to the U.S. Who did this benefit? Why? Corporations had tools-federal courts, the lockout, federal/state troops, blacklists

  6. Unhorsing the Knights of Labor May Day strikes in 1886-half failed Haymarket Square-May 4, 1886 labor disorders/meeting a bomb went off killing/injuring dozens of people 5 sentenced to death/3 stiff prison terms/1 suicide 3 pardons in 1892 by Gov. Altgeld Associated with anarchy and violence
