  1. “Be the Power of One”Building Character for Success “Sometimes I Feel Angry” Lesson K.12 Created By: Pam Gunter

  2. Preparation • Materials Needed: • Use the circles from the last lesson. Make a smiley face on the green circles, and a frowning face on the red circles. • Classroom Setup: • The students may sit at their desks or on the floor at the beginning of the lesson. During the lesson you will need some open floor space.

  3. Challenge of the Week – Follow Up Who wants to share a good choice they made last week? How did making a right choice make you feel?

  4. The Object of the Lesson Points instructor needs to bring out: • Explain to the students that sometimes we feel angry but there are things we can do to help when we feel angry or upset. • We can talk to the person that has made us feel upset. • We can leave the area and play another game or activity. • We can sit and relax for a while. Do some stretching exercises. Relaxation helps us relief stress and anger. • Think of a place that makes you happy inside. Think of a fun family vacation you had. • When needed, visit with an adult such as a parent, teacher or school counselor.

  5. Challenge of the Week Challenge all of the students to work on managing their anger properly. Encourage them to think of a song, or a fun vacation they can use when they are angry. Also have them practice breathing deeply, stretching and possibly walking around the room to relax.
