Learning outcome By the end of the lesson the students will be able- 1. to differentiate between “Sound” and “Noise” and learn the unit of measuring sound. 2. to find out the causes and effects of sound pollution and ways of reducing sound pollution. 3. to write sentences with first conditional using ‘if’.

  5. Difference between “Sound’ and “Noise” When the vibration of air is at a tolerableandpleasant level to human hearing is known as “sound.” But When the sound is unpleasant and loud, it is called “noise”. It is harsh and irritating.

  6. What is “Decibel” ? Unitof measuring loudness of sound is “Decibel”. Remember carefully:(about sound) Human’s Tolerance limit - 45 decibel Harmful for human – (70+) decibel Cities’ sound range – (30-90) decibel
