  5. S.A.C.E. DEFINITION OF COMMUNICATION This capability helps to explore your ability to communicate with others. Part of this could include building on your literacy and numeracy skills, or clearly expressing your ideas and opinions.

  6. PERSONAL DEFINITION OF COMMUNICATION The application of being capable/trying expressing your understanding, opinions and ideas across. Using mediums such as, email, chat websites, text message and blogs etc.

  7. HOW I COMMUNICATE • Through up to date and old methods of communication. • Using popular methods of communication, such as Facebook. • Using hand gestures • Imagery • Eye contact • Body language

  8. MY BEST METHOD OF COMMUNICATION AND WHY I would have to say my best method of communication is writing, as I have more time to think precisely what I wish to say, in order to try and receive a response or receive an answer I am looking for.

SUMMATIVE TASKMY CAREER PATHWAYS ASSIGNMENT By undertaking the Pathways Assignment (Job chosen: Tour Guide), I have developed my communication capability as I have: • Simplifying information • Understanding questions • Interpreting information into own words • Using method of communication – writing • Talking with parents about my responses

WORK EXPERIENCE I developed all of my Communicationcapability by undertaking work experience (Place of work experience: Prestige Travel in Glenside, Adelaide) by: • Talking with staff • Talking with customers • Talking with spokes people for wholesalers • Broaden use of media communication as I now know how to use a fax machine

  13. HOW DOES THE ACHIEVEMENT OF DEVLOPING MY COMMUNICATION SKILLS MAKE ME FEEL? • I am proud to say that in using my communication capability, I have developed my confidence in talking to people and with that the volume of my voice from a mumble, to a someone is listened to and heard.

  15. S.A.C.E. DEFINITION OF CITIZENSHIP Through the Citizenship capability, you can explore how you contribute to the wider community. This could include building on your understanding of differences in cultural backgrounds, or participating in activities outside the school, such as youth forums or community service.

  16. PERSONAL DEFINITION OFCITIZENSHIP To be a part - as a citizen of something (e.g. community, country or group) and contributing… but not only for own personal gain.

SUMMATIVE TASK MY CAREER PATHWAYS ASSIGNMENT By undertaking the Pathways Assignment (Job chosen: Tour Guide), I have developed my citizenship capability as I have: • Understood self • Obtained knowledge about researching for a career • Learned skills e.g. how to make a Bibliography and Appendices • Finding area in industry to contribute to society • Doing this assignment in contribution to being a good citizen in going to school

HOW DO I FEEL NOW THAT I HAVE DEVELOPED BEING A BETTER CITIZEN? • Now that I have developed into being a better citizen, I have a better understanding of what it means to be a citizen and a better one at that. I also know how I can contribute to society and in this way become a better citizen.

  22. S.A.C.E. DEFINITION OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT This is where you have the chance to reflect on and improve areas of your own personal development. This gives you the opportunity to identify your strengths and weaknesses, build your self-confidence, and look at what influences your behaviour.

WORK EXPERIENCE I developed all of my Personal Developmentcapability by undertaking work experience (Place of work experience: Prestige Travel in Glenside, Adelaide) by: • Personally developing all other capabilities • Gaining confidence • Gained better listening skills • Developed time management • Developed morning routine to a healthier one

MY STRATEGIES TASK Capability: Personal Development • Learning new words in my chosen language of Chinese helped me personally develop in the process of doing the task as I developed all of my other capabilities. • I have also personally developed as I have had to be stern on myself in doing the tests two times every week. I also built up my organisation skills in doing this task which has helped me personally develop as I am now able to manage my time better. • I also personally developed by broadening my mind in figuring out and using different strategies to learn the new words.

HOW DO I FEEL HAVING PERSONALLY DEVELOPED? • I am very happy with the way I have personally developed through out this Stage 1 P.L.P. course. • I feel great knowing I have personally developed in all of my other capabilities and that I will continue to personally develop into the person I would like to be some day.

  30. S.A.C.E. DEFINITION OF WORK Under the Work capability, you can explore workplace learning and employability skills. This might be through participating in work experience, talking to employees or gaining skills you can use in the workplace.

HOW DO I FEEL NOW THAT I HAVE DEVELOPED MY WORK CAPABILITY? • I have to say that I have enjoyed developing my work capability more than I thought I would. • I am very pleased and proud of myself to have given work experience a go. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at my place of work experience and have been told I can come back for more.

  38. S.A.C.E. DEFINITION OF LEARNING The Learning capability helps you develop your ability to learn. You can do this by gaining feedback on your learning style and areas for improvement, learning organisational skills, or building on your reflection and evaluation skills.

MY STRATEGIES TASK I developed and demonstrated my learning capability by undertaking the Strategies Task (Strategy chosen: Learn 50 new Chinese characters, their pinyin and English translation) by: • I developed my learning capability as I have broadened my spectrum of different methods of learning. I used the method of listening to the words and writing in Chinese. At times I used the “Language Perfect” website, where I was able to learn fifty words in Chinese.
