  1. Chapter six Animal Farm is an allegory. Each of the animals represents a particular group of humans. What do the various groups of animals represent?

  3. Stalin was a leader of the Russian revolution. He used secret police to get rid of rivals, including Trotsky. Stalin had purges and show trials, when people who didn’t agree with him were punished and killed. How has Napoleon gradually become a dicatator – what are the stages?

  4. What is ironic about Napoleon’s new announcement in paragraph Two? Who leads the efforts to make the Windmill? What is this character’s attitude towards Napoleon? Why do the animals start trading with their enemies? What animals start to become uneasy? How is their concern squashed? And by whom? What commandments have been broken in this chapter? What happened to the windmill? Why does Napoleon blame Snowball? Irony = convey a meaning exactly opposite from its literal meaning

  5. What commandments have been broken in this chapter? THE SEVEN COMMANDMENTS 1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy. 2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend. 3. No animal shall wear clothes. 4. No animal shall sleep in a bed. 5. No animal shall drink alcohol. 6. No animal shall kill any other animal. 7. All animals are equal.
