  1. How to Prepare Your Child for Childcare It is difficult in the initial days for a child to adapt to the new atmosphere of childcare and be away from home but they soon settle down as it becomes a routine. Here are a few tips to make your child ready to go to a childcare. 1.Keep your feelings to yourself Children can sense your emotions so it’s more important for you to be strong and happy when sending your child away from home. If they sense you are sad or worried they will feel the same. Make them feel that it’s a happy occasion that they are going to a childcare where they will make new friends, learn new things, play games etc. 2.Listen to your child and understand her emotions You must listen to your child and make her express their feelings and fears to you.

  2. 3.Pretend and Practice In order to make your child ready, pretend and practice social things that child may face at childcare centres at home. For e.g. – hanging a coat, arranging bags and books, taking turn when playing, etc. Carry out routine activities at home with your child so that she can make a smoother transition. 4.Be Patient Don’t pressure your kids if he is not feeling excited about new things at school or is less responsive. Give him time to adjust to the new lifestyle. 5.Teach them happy goodbyes Create a happy atmosphere for your child in the morning, make them enjoy the process of getting ready for school, having breakfast, play their favourite songs on the way and give them a hug when you drop them off. This makes the child feel happy, secure and enjoy his routine
