  4. Re-chartering Discussion

  5. Re-Chartering • WG has completed work against all existing Milestones  • Need to define some new ones? • Or close WG? • Quite a few individual drafts • draft-kumaki-murai-ccamp-rsvp-te-l3vpn • draft-kumaki-murai-pce-pcep-extension-l3vpn • draft-marques-l3vpn-ibgp • draft-morin-l3vpn-mvpn-fast-failover • draft-raggarwa-l3vpn-bgp-mvpn-extranet • draft-rosen-l3vpn-mvpn-bidir • draft-rosen-l3vpn-mvpn-extranet • draft-rosen-l3vpn-mvpn-mspmsi • draft-rosen-l3vpn-mvpn-spmsi-joins • draft-rosen-l3vpn-mvpn-wildcards

  6. Do we need to re-charter at all?? • Existing Charter covers: • IPv4, IPv6 & Multicast for: • BGP/MPLS IP VPNs • IP VPNs using Virtual Routers • CE-based VPNs using IPsec • Deployment Scenarios: • Single SP, Single/Multiple ASs, Multiple SPs, Internet VPNs • Work items: • Requirements, Solutions, MIBs, Security mechanisms • Explicitly excluded topics: • QoS & OAM

  7. Discussion Points • Virtual Router & CE related drafts have been withdrawn • Probably should remove from charter • Existing charter is pretty generic • E.g. Re: MVPN current charter basically says “Work on Multicast VPN” • Would it be useful to have a more focussed charter? • E.g. Call out some more specific MVPN related topics? • BiDir? Extranet? • What new Milestones would we like to work towards? • BiDir? Extranet? Resiliency? PCE? OAM???

  8. Open Discussion
