  2. Guiding Question • How have I grown as a writer?

  3. Consider the writing lessons we’ve done this year in fourth grade. • Which part of the writing process do you enjoy/don’t you enjoy? • What strategies have you learned? • What kind of writing do you prefer?

  4. Activity • Make a 3 column organizer on your paper • In the first column, write at least 5 statements about yourself as a writer • In the second column, list the titles of pieces in your portfolio that support what you have said about yourself as a writer • In the third column, list specific reasons why these pieces meet the needs of your readers.

  5. Activity • Work with your partner to examine models of reflective letters. • Highlight the statements the authors make about themselves as writers. • Highlight the details the authors use to support those statements.
