  5. Ostracize (v) After becoming a pariah, Wolfgang was ostracized by the tetherball community. This caused him to walk home, alone and friendless every night. He wept bitter tears; it was actually pretty amusing. • To exclude (from society; friendship; et cetera)

  6. Implement (n) Señor Quibble need some sort of implement to get the spaghetti from his plate to his mouth. However, he, being an ignoramus, did not know what to do. • A utensil; a tool; an instrument; any article used to fulfill a task

  7. Implement (v) Señorita Fieldmouse decided to implement a policy that would have required all her neighbors to give her a basket of fresh produce every Tuesday. She loved fresh produce. • To perform; to carry out

  8. Elude (v) The spy tried to elude his pursuers by dropping into the tunnels beneath the city. However, his pursuers were part sewer rat, and he was captured and baked in a pie. • To escape or avoid (often using speed, stealth, or wits)

  9. Homage (n) The majority of critics said that the band was stealing their songs; the band themselves, however, said they were merely paying homage, and that is why their songs sounded so much like music that had been previously written. • Respect or reverence

  10. Castigate (v) After spilling paint on the carpet because he was busy twerking, Spencer was castigated by his boss – both for his carelessness and his poor and improper dancing. • To lambaste; to reprimand; to criticize severely

  12. Destitute (adj) After failing to make even the slightest effort in high school, Abelard found himself unable to get a job. Without that, he had no money and no home. He was destitute. • Impoverished; lacking food, shelter, or clothing
