  2. Why do It? • Coaching Division Offices and State DOTs • Address Legal compliance (to be included in legal sufficiency reviews) • Assess effectiveness of 6002 requirements

  3. What do we mean by Effectiveness? • Comparison between pre-and post-SAFETEA-LU • Fulfilling the SAFETEA-LU intent • Effectiveness measured from Division Office perspective • Effectiveness ratings used

  4. Collecting this Data • Excel Spreadsheet records project milestone dates, lists of agencies, effectiveness ratings (actual number) • Effectiveness Ratings information will not be included in EDTS • HEPE staff will call to discuss basis for ratings given • HEPE will validate and analyze effectiveness rating data • HEPE will prepare accurate and detailed reports

  5. Challenges • Need to report a national “effectiveness” perspective based on project specific ratings • What needs to be changed? Are you really “already doing it”? • Does the 6002 process meet the expectation of expedited project reviews while still improving outcomes?
