Major Changes • Significant changes since previous version • A P2MP TE LSP is established by setting up multiple standard P2P TE LSPs from a sender node and all the downstream branch nodes along the P2P TE LSP to one of the leaf nodes of the P2MP TE LSP. • A branched LSP is associated with original trunk LSP by newly defined Association object so that the P2MP LSP tunnel is established over the P2MP path. Major Changes (con’t) • Significant changes since previous version • Branches encoded in Secondary EROs (SEROs) • Each SERO runs from a branch to a leaf • Gives the ability to graft and prune easily • Makes efficient scaling a possibility • Re-uses a concept from End-to-End Recovery • Trees recorded in Secondary RROs (SRROs) • Use of Association Object to link together LSPs for the same tree • Makes P2MP make-before-break easier • Allows “parallel” LSPs in the same tree with resource sharing • Re-uses a concept from End-to-End Recovery • Extensive descriptive text to cover LSP setup, modification and teardown procedures • Added a third editor 59th IETF Seoul March 2004

Remaining Issues • There are two solutions draft • WG doesn’t want two solutions • Both solutions address the same problem space • Missing pieces rapidly being supplied by both groups • The two solutions show some signs of converging • The two sets of authors should sit down together and try to reach a common solution ASAP • Minor edits and clarifications 59th IETF Seoul March 2004
