  2. Northumberland Disability and Deaf Network was developed to bring Together Disabled and Deaf People living in Northumberland

  3. The background to the development of the network lies in work undertaken by Adapt linked into the regional Equalities Partners

  4. The network brings together individual people and organisations as a participatory network

  5. The network has undertaken some specific work funded through North East Empowerment Partnership. Report – Effective Engagement with Disabled and Deaf People

  6. Access has been identified as a major issue in relation to provision of services.

  7. The aim of the network is to give disabled people more of a voice and influence policy decisions. The network is working in partnership across Northumberland and being recognised as a point of reference by statutory organisations.

  8. User Led Development Fund-What is it? £15k to support the ULO Network in Northumberland Funded by North East Improvement and Efficiencies Project Projects from November 2010- April 2011
