  1. Now Is The Time! Ephesians 5:15-17

  2. We All Have Limited Time • First of all, we must be very careful how we live because our time on this earth is limited (Psa. 39:4; 90:10) • “Yet you do not know your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away” (James 4:14) • Solomon offers excellent advice (Prov. 4:25-27)

  3. Make The Most Of Opportunities • Ephesians 5:16 • NIV has “making the most of every opportunity” • Paul gives a reason, “because the days are evil” • Just think of the time wasted in bars or in gambling casinos or in shallow activities. Think of the time wasted with gossiping or spreading rumors

  4. But it is not just sin that makes demands on our time. Sometimes even good things can make demands • Mary and Martha (Lk. 10:38-42) • Now was Martha committing a sin by fixing a meal in the kitchen? • The problem was with her being so preoccupied with what she was doing that she didn’t realize that God was in her living room

  5. Suggestions • I will obey the gospel (Mk. 16:16) • I will seek the kingdom and God’s righteousness (Matt. 6:33) • I will to the very best of my ability live up to my calling as a Christian (2 Thess. 2:14) • I will do my part in the congregation of which I am a member (Eph. 4:16) • I will pray every day (1 Thess. 5:17) • I will seek to encourage all and discourage none (Heb. 10:24) • I will not procrastinate (2 Cor. 6:2) • I will read and study my Bible daily (2 Peter 3:18)
