  2. Pain relief drugs are not a new thing to anyone as most of us need it to relief us from pain. • Even though labour pain and arthritis pain are the main cause to use pain relief drug but there are other several reason also make us to take these drugs. • Here we are going to discuss about the pain relief drugs for arthritis.

  3. Arthritis pain made our life unstable. But the good thing is, to find relief from arthritis pain such as joint pain, stiffness, and swelling doctors can prescribe or recommend various medication. • But pain relief drugs have both benefits and side effects. • So before you decide your medication consider first if it is the right choice for you.

  4. Acetaminophen: • Acetaminophen is one of commonly used pain reliever and usually considers it as safe pain relief medicine. • But to some people acetaminophen is not a very effective one as it only relieves pain only not the effect of inflammation. • Acetaminophen is not very effective alone if the arthritis pain become very severs and in that case prescription acetaminophen that contains an opioid might help to ease the pain.

  5. Side of the pain relief drugs vary depending on the type of the drugs you take.

  6. Non-prescription acetaminophen: This kind of acetaminophen normally does not have any kind of side effect in case you take the dose as directed by doctor. But there is a chance of liver damage if you take more amount than the doctor suggested. While taking other drugs such as OTC cough and cold products, you need to be careful not to overdose the acetaminophen as they also contain acetaminophen.

  7. According to Matthew Grissinger, RPh, director of Error Reporting Programs at the Institute for Safe Medicine Practices in Horsham, Pennsylvania, says, “Acetaminophen is hidden in a lot of products, more than you think”.

  8. Prescription-strength acetaminophen combinations: This type pain relief drugs has lot of side effect such as constipation, dizziness, light headedness, nausea, and vomiting and if the amount of dosage increase then the side effects also increases. Usually the side effects are from the opioid such as codeine, oxycodone, or hydrocodone that combined with the acetaminophen.

  9. Prescription-strength and non-prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs): In case if the acetaminophen does not work in your arthritis pain then the next thing a doctor prescribe is a NSAID with the lowest possible dose. NSAID does give you relief from pain and inflammation but it also have lot of risks too especially if you used them for a long time to relieve your pain.
