  2. Stay Back!! Viibimise Magasi!! HistoryAjalugu BAM!! After centuries of Danish, Swedish, German, and Russian rule, Estonia regained independence in 1918. Forcibly incorporated into the USSR in 1940, it regained its freedom in 1991, with the collapse of the Soviet Union. Since the last Russian troops left in 1994, Estonia has been free to promote economic and political ties with Western Europe. It joined both NATO - a military alliance of democratic states in Europe and North America - and the EU in the spring of 2004.
  3. Government and EconomyValitsuse ja Majanduse The economy benefits from strong electronics and telecommunications sectors and strong trade ties with Finland, Sweden, and Germany. The current government has pursued relatively sound fiscal policies, resulting in balanced budgets and low public debt.Rapid growth, however, has made it difficult to keep inflation and large current-account deficits from soaring, putting downward pressure on the country's currency. The government is hoping to adopt the euro in 2011. Estonia's economy slowed down markedly and fell sharply into recession in mid-2008, as a result of an investment and consumption slump following the bursting of the real estate market. GDP dropped nearly 14% in 2009, among the world's highest rates of contraction. They have a parliamentary democracy and market economy.
  4. Goodbye Nighty night! Land and ClimateMaa ja Kliima Estonia is marshy with many lowlands. It is flat in the north and very hilly in the south. Suur Munamagi is it’s highest point. It has more than 1,500 islands, and mostly has a boggy land. It has a maritime climate with wet winters and cool summers. Estonia is about the size of Vermont and NH put together. Sometimes there is flooding in the spring.
