Objective: To understand how to graph geometric shapes on the coordinate plane.

A coordinate plane is a grid with a vertical y-axis and horizontal x-axis.

The coordinate plane is divided into four quadrants.

You can use an ordered pair (x,y) to locate any point on the plane.

The first number in an ordered pair is the x-coordinate.

The second number in an ordered pair is the y-coordinate.
