  2. Problem/Purpose/Question Type your problem here. This is the question that you will try to answer through doing your experiment. Example 1: How does the temperature of water affect how much sugar can be dissolved in it? Example 2: How does the height from which a ball is dropped affect how high it will bounce? Example 3: Do mealworms grow and mature faster with vitamin fortified cereal or with plain oatmeal?

  3. Research • Summarize the most important things that you found out about your topic. Do not type in your entire research report. You should list three to five important facts. You may insert another slide if you need more space. • Fact 1 • Fact 2 • Fact 3 • Fact 4 • Fact 5

  4. Hypothesis Type what you think is going to happen in your experiment. This is your prediction or educated guess.

  5. Variables Independent Variable: List the one thing that you changed in your tests. Example: temperature Dependent Variable: This is the result that you were counting or measuring. Example: amount of sugar dissolved. Controlled Variables: List the things that you needed to keep the same to make sure that your tests were fair.

  6. Materials • List the materials that you used. Make sure that you list the amount of each material. • List material • List material • List material

  7. Procedure List the steps of your procedure. These are the directions for your experiment. Insert another slide if you need more space. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

  8. Results Describe what happened in your experiment. You can insert charts, graphs, and pictures. Make sure that you label your data and list the units. Insert another slide if you need more space.

  9. Conclusion What did you find out? Answer the problem based on the results of your experiment. Tell if your hypothesis was correct or incorrect.

  10. References/ Bibliography List the sources that you used for your information. List any books, encyclopedias, or Internet sites that you used.
