  3. Mission statement The Hood Canal Coordinating Council, working with partners, community groups and citizens, will advocate for and implement regionally and locally appropriate actions to protect and enhance Hood Canal’s environmental and economic health.

Visioning • "preserve the experience found in relatively undeveloped areas where tranquility, wildlife and intimate communities can still be found.” • "Rural characteristics include the abundance of trees, access to recreation, views of water and mountains, and a quiet, unregimented atmosphere..."

  5. Puget Sound Partnership Goals • A healthy human population supported by a healthy Puget Sound that is not threatened by changes in the ecosystem; • A quality of human life that is sustained by a functioning Puget Sound ecosystem;
