  1. Performance under fire condition New requirements for circuit integrity: enhanced cables BS 5839-1 : 2002 Fire Detection and Fire Alarm Systems for Buildings Part 1: code of practice for system design, installation, commissioning and maintenance Par. 26 Cable, wiring and other interconnections Recommendation for two level of fire resistance: • Standard for general use • Enhanced when cables might need to operate correctly during a fire for periods in excess of those normally required for single phase evacuation of building

  2. Performance under fire condition New requirements for circuit integrity: enhanced cables BS 5839-1 : 2002 Standard EN 50200 PH 30 classification (improved) 830 °C mechanical shock for 15 min. mechanical shock and water for 15 min. Enhanced EN 50200 PH 120 classification (improved) 930 °C mechanical shock for 60 min. mechanical shock and water for 60 min.

  3. Performance under fire condition New requirements for circuit integrity: enhanced cables BS 5839-1 : 2002 Regarding fibre optic cables, “When fibre optic connections are used, they need to provide at least equivalent integrity and reliability to other cables that are recommended for the same purpose”.

  4. Products SR 114E Control Cables 300/500 V These cables have been designed to meet requirements of BS 5839-1 : 2002 for enhanced cables for certain specific building applications.
