case 1 chronic ear drainage
Case 1: Chronic ear drainage
  • COM vs. Mastoiditis vs. skullbaseosteo
  • When to order CT
  • When to order MRI
  • When to order nuclear medicine scan
  • 45 year old diabetic with chronic ear drainage and hearing loss
  • Drainage improve with ABX drops but recurs shortly
  • Physical examination:
    • Pus in EAC
    • Subtotal TM perforation
    • No ossicles seen
