Indicator 1.8: All junior high students will meet or exceed standards and be identified as proficient on the MEAP tests in reading, writing, math, science and social studies.

  • Reading Tier II Indicator: Increase the number of students who score at proficient or higher in Reading.

    • S.M.A.R.T. Goal: The percentage of Davis 7th, 8th and 9th grade students scoring proficient or higher in Reading will increase as measured by the school-wide expository assessment from ____% to _____%.

    • School-wide Expository Test – Identifying Main Ideas, Inference, Locating Supporting Evidence

    • School-wide Expository Test – Identifying Main Ideas, Inference, Accessing Prior Knowledge, Metacognition, Vocabulary, Cause and Effect

    • Explore Test – Identifying Main Ideas, Generalizations, Locating Supporting Evidence, Vocabulary

    • School-wide Expository Test – Inference, Chronological Order, Cause and Effect, Identifying Main Ideas.

  • By 2014, all students in the Utica Community Schools will meet or exceed proficiency standards in English language arts (reading and writing), math, science, social studies, fine arts and career and technical education, as defined by national, state and UCS standards.
