  2. Pneumococcal disease is also called as pneumonia. It is a kind of an inflammation which is caused in the air sacs of the lungs. It may be caused either in one lung or both the lungs. A person suffering from pneumonia will always have difficulty in breathing along with cough; this is mainly because the air sacs in the lungs are filled with pus and fluid-like substance. This disease is most commonly found in children. But this pneumonia can also affect the adults if they don’t take precautions. All those patients have to do is take the pneumonia vaccine at the correct time, after which the patient will be completely fine. 

  3. Two Kinds of Vaccine  Doctors while treating the patients mostly use two types of the pneumonia vaccine. Apart from the use of vaccines, doctors can also use a certain type of medication. And this medication helps in preventing the disease from reoccurring again. The two types of Pneumoniavaccine are as follows: PCV13 – Pneumonia Vaccine for Kids  The doctors mainly use this vaccine to treat the children who are of the age of two years and less. Apart from using this vaccine on healthy infants, this vaccine is also used for children who are suffering from certain kinds of health conditions. PPSV23- Pneumonia Vaccine for Old People  This is a kind of Pneumoniavaccine is not recommended for babies by the doctor. For people who are more than 65 years, are the only ones to whom doctors and physicians recommend this vaccine. Plus, doctors also use this type of vaccine to treat smokers who are aged 19 to 64 years old.

  4. Side Effects of Pneumonia Vaccine -  There are also some pneumonia vaccine side effects which you should be aware of. Some of the side effects are – allergy, redness and swelling, moderate headaches, chills and high fever, a sudden feeling of irritation, loss of hunger or appetite, feeling tired, muscle and joint pain, slight sense of dizziness, sensation of ringing inside of your ears. So, these are some of the mild side effects that patients can face after they have taken this vaccine. You can also consult your doctor for the same.
