Weekly Summary Tevatron Department Meeting

This is a summary of the Tevatron Department Meeting held on June 4, 2010, coordinated by Bruce Hanna. The meeting discussed various topics including store numbers, HEP particle intensities, effective emittance, bunch length, aperture scans, parsing the squeeze, beam outside buckets reduced, RF reduction, luminosity lifetime, and problems encountered. Studies and work completed were also mentioned.

  1. Weekly SummaryTevatron Department Meeting Tevatron Coordinator Bruce Hanna Friday, June 4, 2010

  2. Store Summary Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL 12/20/2019

  3. Store Numbers Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL

  4. HEP Particle Intensities

  5. HEP Effective Emittance

  6. HEP Bunch Length

  7. B0 Aperture scans Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL

  8. Results of Parsing the Squeeze Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL

  9. Beam Outside buckets reduced • Left: Quenched at D0 • Below No quench Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL

  10. More RF reduces loss at 400 Gev Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL

  11. Effective emittance vs Luminosity lifetime Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL

  12. Problems • Last pbar transfer went into the wrong bucket causing a quench at D0 • Quench DA,DB,DD and D15 at Seq 23.5 • Quenched DA and DB on first ramp after recovering from quench • F47 turbo stations are dead • AAK5 prefired; reservoirs were lowered .1 V • A1 cooldown took a long time and is not understood • B11 vertical separator sparked Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL 12/20/2019 12

  13. - Parsed the squeeze from Seq 18 to Seq 25; reduced upper tune to .587 and improved coupling on the proton helix. Found chromaticity at 20 units at Seq 19 - tune tracker phasing measurements completed; tune tracker and chromaticity tracker now work. - PA for TRF4 replaced; it was weak. Also increased rf voltage - C17 turbo station replaced Studies/Work Completed Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL 12/20/2019 13

  14. Study requests • TEL-2 abort gap cleaning test (EOS 1 hour) • 150gev Chrom Study (2 hours- dedicated at 150gev, Tan) • Aperture scans at B0 • Ping beam at low field to measure coupling with protons on the pbar helix • Tune mults calibration. • 3x3 store for TEL beam - beam compensation studies • Pbar only store once luminosity is better to document conditions. • Lattice measurements at Flattop and Sequence 14 and on pbar helix at Collisions Tevatron Coordinator - FNAL
