  2. Resetting Your Life If life is a series of choices then: How do you feel about your choices? What’s the fruit of your choices? In reality how well are your choices working? Are your choices leading to the abundant life or the redundant life?

Resetting Your Life The Lord’s Covenant Promise to Abram 1 Some time later, the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.” 2 But Abram replied, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth. 3 You have given me no descendants of my own, so one of my servants will be my heir.” 4 Then the Lord said to him, “No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir.” 5 Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” 6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith. Genesis 15:1-6 NLT

  4. Resetting Your Life 8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. 9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. 10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. 11 It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise. 12 And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them. Hebrews 11:8-12 NLT

  5. Resetting Your Life • Abraham was under attack by physical enemies • Abraham was under attack by emotional enemies • Abraham probably had more questions than answers • Abraham had experience, knowledge, and understanding.

  6. Resetting Your Life God called Abraham and Abraham by faith accepted the call. Billy Graham: Faith is taking the Gospel in: works is taking the Gospel out. God protected Abraham and Abraham by faith remained under God’s covering. God provided for Abraham and Abraham by faith has blessed many generations. By faith Abraham considered God faithful and God credited Abraham with righteousness. By faith Abraham knew God always had more for him.

  7. Resetting Your Life What about the resetting of your life and walking by faith? 1.Choose to walk by faith, believing God is faithful. 2.Choose to walk by faith, trusting God’s plan. 3. Choose to walk by faith, by NOT having a plan b. 4. Choose to walk by faith, saying yes Lord. 5. Choose to walk by faith letting God say when he is finished.
