UIC Study of Pharmacists’ Attitudes • 95% aware of law • 13% increase in willing to sell syringes. • 2004-51%; 2007-64% • 79% report selling syringes w/o prescription. • 77% report customers requesting syringes. • More than 85% willing to provide information on: • injection-related infections, OD prevention, disposal, treatment referrals • Separate UIC survey of 94 IDUs 18-25 years, • Asked where they obtained needles in last six months • 93%--drug store • 53%--NEP Is it working???
