  4. L-O-V-E 1 Cor. 13:1-2 • All the • Tongues • Prophetic powers • Understanding all mysteries • Understanding all knowledge • Faith • Without love is nothing

  5. L-O-V-E 1 Cor. 13:3 • If I… • Give away all I own • Deliver my body to be burned • Without love is nothing

  6. Because L-O-V-E is… 1 Cor. 13:4-7 • Patient • Kind • Does not envy or boast • Is not arrogant or rude • Does not insist on its own way • Is not irritable or resentful

  7. Because L-O-V-E is… 1 Cor. 13:4-7 • Does not rejoice at wrongdoing • Rejoices with truth • Bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things • Why is love greater than all? Love never ends

  8. L-O-V-E never ends… 1 Cor. 13:8 • Prophecies? They will pass away • Tongues? They will cease • Knowledge? It will pass away

  9. L-O-V-E never ends… 1 Cor. 13:9-10 • Gift of knowledge…only know part • Gift of prophesy…only see part • But when perfection comes.... • “the partial will pass away.”

  10. L-O-V-E never ends… 1 Cor. 13:11 • When I was a child… • Spoke, thought, reasoned like a child • As an adult… • I gave up childish ways

  11. L-O-V-E never ends… 1 Cor. 13:12 • Currently, we see in a mirror dimly… • Currently, I know in part • But, then (later), I shall know fully

  12. L-O-V-E never ends… 1 Cor. 13:13 • So what exists now? • Faith, hope, and love • Which is the greatest? • Love

  13. L-O-V-E 1 Cor. 13 • Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? • “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” • “And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matt 22:36-39
