Land and Climate • Area 9,372,571 sq km • Includes Alaska and Hawaii • Highest point:Mount McKinley – 6,194 m • Lowest point:Death Walley – 86 m below sea level • Climate:West coast influenced by the Pacific Ocean (mild summers, cool winters), inland southwest desert and semi-desert, very hot in summer, Alaska is arctic, Hawaii tropical)
