  23. Significant Safety Achievements- 4/13 • Clean-up of the Building 70 and 60/63 gas cylinder areas has been completed. Approximately 100 cylinders were returned or disposed. • Approximately 500 “old chemicals” were removed from lab areas in Buildings 62 and 70. This is our third round. More to come! • Quarterly SAA inspections were completed on 4/29/13. • Three “Safety Alerts were issued: • Timely accident reporting • Empty gas cylinder return procedures • Lab area housekeeping • An EETD-lunch seminar was held regarding lab traffic safety. • An EETD Safety Committee meeting was held on 4/4/13.

  24. Short Term Safety Outlook- 5/13 • Start work on the “On the Job Training” self-assessment project. • Develop EETD “New Hire Orientation” training materials. • Follow-up on CATS items from the housekeeping self-assessment. • Work with EHSS to develop a process for identifying and removing orphan chemicals from labs. • Update a number of Activity Hazard Documents that are due for their annual renewal. • Generate a “Lessons Learned” regarding the recent janitorial incident in 70-269. • Assist with set-up of lab areas 51-102, 51-103, 62-102, and 62-316. • Continue efforts on removal of old chemicals and cylinders.
