  2. Project Board for Quality Control, Assessment and Monitoring (3 members: UA, UNS-student, AEC) • Board will create: • project evaluation plan, • questionnaires, and • partner report models (activity and financial).

  3. Project evaluation plans Project evaluation plan focuses on whether the project was effective and achieved its objectives. Distinction between formative and summative evaluation. They are similar, and the main difference is timing: Formative evaluation Performed during the project to improve the work in progress and the likelihood that it will be successful Summative evaluation Performed near the end of the project to provide evidence of achievements and success

Project evaluation plans Some aims of the formative evaluation : Assess progress towards meeting the aims and objectives Identify gaps and issues Gather and disseminate best practice Ensure project outputs are meeting stakeholder needs Ensure the project can respond flexibly to changes in the environment and that it isn’t overtaken by events

Project evaluation plans • Formative questions • Have milestones been met on schedule? • What is holding up progress? • What should we do to correct this? • Is project management effective? • Do partners agree with interim findings? • Is our dissemination effective? • What lessons have we learned? • Do we need to change the plan?

Project evaluation plans Some aims of the summative evaluation: Assess whether the programme achieved its aims and objectives Assess the impacts, benefits, and value of the project in the broader context Identify achievements and stimulate discussion with the community Synthesise knowledge from the programme and lessons learned Identify areas for future development work

Project evaluation plans • Summative questions • Have objectives been met? • Have outcomes been achieved? • What are the key findings? • What impact did the project have? • What benefits are there for stakeholders? • Was our approach effective? • What lessons have we learned? • What would we do differently?

  8. Evaluation methods Evaluation methods Evaluation methods are well-documented, so they should be based on sufficient information to choose appropriate methods and use them successfully. Quantitative methods: questionnaires, etc. Qualitative methods: interviews, observations, Peer reviews

  9. Questionnaires Project evaluation questions: Is the project proceeding according to the timeline in the stated plan? If not, why not? Are the project processes leading to effective outputs? Eg, communication, project management... Is the collaboration between 18 partner institutions working effectively? Are identified stakeholders being kept updated on progress? Outcomes evaluation questions : Have adequate numbers and teaching and learning characteristics been included in the student and staff samples? (For example age, discipline, enrolment status, employment status.) Does more data need to be collected? Have the survey results identified usage patterns and the teaching and learning contexts of students? Have a variety of teaching issues and strategies been identified?

  10. Submission of reports to EC Intermediate Report When 70% of the 1stpre-financing has been disbursed and not later than half way through the eligibility period (18 months after start of eligibility period) Final Report 2 months after the end of the eligibility period.
